  Tanzania is a neighbor of Zambia in East Africa. It is one of the poorest countries in the world. It is ranked 98th out of 109th on the Global Food Security Index with a score of 33.7 out of 100

  Overfishing as for many decades fish that have been caught have been replaced however species like bluefin tuna are nearly extinct which disrupts the food chain which causes species to die to the insufficient amounts of food. Poisons and explosives are put in the river to catch all the fishes in the sea as there is loss of oxygen however this kills the whole ecosystem because of that.

  By-Catch is when the long nets or fishing lines are used this leads to animals being caught by accident. Due to this everything is thrown back to the sea often dead or dying

  Ethical consumerism is buying products that have positive social, economic and environmental impacts which can also help achieve food security. For instance Fairtrade products ensure farmers are payed fairly. Fairtrade is a global movement that ensures that the farmers are rightfully paid for their products.

  The Fairtrade mark was developed first in 1994 and had to meet the standards set by Fairtrade international. Also a third of food gets lost by food waste which is 1.3 billion tonnes of food wasted a year. To reduce this people have been advised to buy locally to reduce the waste due to transportation. This is beneficial as the farmers earn more from the produce that they make which is especially good in LIDC's and EDC's as they are able to have a healthier diet.
