Why opportunity sampling for age&sleep
• P: I used opportunity sampling in my observation because it was the most practical method within the school setting
• E: participants - students and staff - were already available and accessible, which made recruitment quick, convenient, and cost-effective. This allowed me to collect data efficiently without needing additional time or resources for wider recruitment
• E: although this method may introduce sample bias and limit generalisability - as participants came from one institution and similar backgrounds - it was appropriate given the time and resource constraints of a school-based study
• L: therefore, opportunity sampling was the most feasible and efficient method for my research context, even though it may have limited the wider applicability of the findings
