  1. use BALANCE to measure mass
  2. if regular: measure length, width & height with ruler & calculate volume with formula for that shape
  3. if irregular: submerge into EUREKA CAN with water; water displaced in measuring cylinder which equates to the volume

  • use d=m/v formula to find density

  1. place measuring cylinder on balance
  2. pour 10ml of liquid & record mass
  3. pour another 10ml and repeat until cylinder is full

  • record total volume & mass each time

  1. for each measurement, use formula to find density
  2. take average of densities
