Explain how u managed 2 ethical issues (3+3)

Cards (2)

  • Informed consent
One ethical issue addressed was informed consent. Participants were given a clear explanation of the study’s purpose, including what their participation involved (completing a sleep diary and a lifestyle questionnaire), how their data would be used, and their rights as participants. Consent was confirmed through the Microsoft Forms questionnaire before any data was collected. This ensured that participants were fully informed and voluntarily agreed to take part, upholding the ethical principles set out by the BPS
  • Confidentiality and anonymity
Another key issue was confidentiality and anonymity. To protect student privacy, no identifiable information was collected, and all data were anonymised before analysis. Responses were securely stored and only used for the purpose of this research. This helped to build trust, reduce participant risk, and ensured compliance with ethical standards concerning data protection and privacy.
