  • What are the rive roots of Usal ad-Din?
    1)Tawhid
    2) Adl/ Adalat (divine justice)
    3) Nubuwwah (prophethood)
    4) Imamah (successors to Muhammad; Muslims believe Allah has appointed Imams/ leaders to guide humanity and be a source of authority)
    5) Mi’ad (day of judgement and the resurrection)
  • Tawhid: “He is God the one, God the eternal… No one is comparable to him” (Surah 112)
  • Nubuwwah (and Tawhid) : ”we send a messenger to every community, saying “Worship God and shun false gods.”
    (Surah 16:36)
  • Nubuwwah + Immah: “obey God and the Messenger, and those in authority among you” (Surah 4: 59)
  • Why is the five roots of Usal ad-Din important to Shi’a Muslims?
    1)Unites Ummah in beliefs such as Tawhid (which is the central idea of both groups), Nubuwwah and the Day of Judgement
    2) by upholding these beliefs, Shi’a Muslims can uphold their faith better
