Learning Theory

• Learning theory suggests that attachment is a two-way process because of mutual reinforcements
• This theory suggests that attachment occurs because of the regular association of two stimuli.. eg food and the primary caregiver
• This theory suggests that babies attach to the primary caregiver as they enjoyed the experience of being close to them. Generally if we experience something as a positive experience then we seek to repeat it.
