  Brought cold easterly winds from Siberia
• The cold easterly winds from Siberia lead to heavy snowfall and temperatures that were below zero
• It was caused by a large Artic easterly airmass which stretched from the far east of Russia to the UK
• The "Beast East" combined with storm Emma which made landfall on the 2nd March leading to some of the worst winter conditions that Britain had seen in years
