• What four components does blood consist of?

  Plasma, Platelets, red blood cells, white blood cells
• Plasma is the liquid part of blood which carries everything that needs to be transported around the body. Even urea from the liver to the kidneys
• Red blood cells have a biconcave shape to give a large surface area to volume ratio to absorb and release oxygen faster
• Red blood cells are small and flexible so can pass through capillaries
