  3. failure of immigrants assimilating into british society. Cultural strangeness provokes hostility from the host community

  Asians benefitted from strong entrepreneurial traditions, leading to successful ethnic businesses. Afro-caribbean cultures were weakened due to colonialism & slavery, some arguing that there is an anti enterprise attitude
• Sewell

  attacked the belief that you can omly be an authentic black person if you are street wise. This idea discourages young black men from studying hard and developing careers and businesses.
