  • positive feel in the country
  • legacy of infrastructure > sporting facilities for the future
• negatives:

  • financial cost
  • potential terrorist risk
  • money could have been spent on health and education
  • nation could be in debt for decades e.g. Rio olympics 2016. Brazil was in debt and there was loss of homes and abandonment of infrastructure
