Cards (18)

  • Pictorial Drawing consists of Isometric Projection, Oblique Projection, and Perspective Projection
  • Pictorial Drawing - an image of an object (actual or imagined) viewed as it would be seen by someone who looks at the object either in a chosen direction or from a selected point of view
  • Isometric Projection - creates a 3d picture from 2d objects where the top, front and side views are presented in an almost real effect
  • Strict Rule in Isometric Drawing: The composition of Isometric object follows the strict rule of positioning three axes namely the vertical, left (30 degrees) and right (30 degrees) cross axes
  • THE FIRST STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Lay out the horizon
  • THE SECOND STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Establish the vertical axis where the height detail of the object can be marked and labeled
  • THE THIRD STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Using the 30x60 degrees triangle, direct the position of the left and right 30 degrees axes where the width and length can be marked and labeled
  • THE FOURTH STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Project all the necessary axes using the markings on the primary axes
  • THE FIFTH STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Detail the line composition
  • THE SIXTH STEP IN ISOMETRIC PROJECTION: Erase all the unnecessary lines and finalize the object by accenting the line or by inking
  • Oblique Projection - another type of pictorial drawing where one side is positioned at an angle of 45 degrees. The views creatively emphasize the front view as well as the side view of the object
  • THE FIRST STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Lay out the horizon
  • THE SECOND STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Establish the vertical axes
  • THE THIRD STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Mark along the horizon the width or length of the obejct
  • THE FOURTH STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Using the 45x45 degrees triangle direct the position left or right 45 degrees cross axes as reference points towards the compilation of the oblique box
  • THE FIFTH STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Project all the necessary axes
  • THE SIXTH STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Detail or mark and project the line
  • THE SEVENTH STEP IN OBLIQUE PROJECTION: Finalize the object by accenting the line or by inking
