Photophosphorylaton is the generation of ATP and inorganic phosphate when in the presence of light.
There are two types of photophosphorylation:
Non-cyclic photophosphorylation involves both types of photosystems. It produces ATP, oxygen and Reduced NADP
Cyclic photophosphorylation involves only photosystem one. It produces ATP in smaller quantities then made in non-cyclic photophosphorylation
Both cyclic and non-cyclicphotophosphorylation involve iron-containing proteins that are embedded in the thylakoid membrane, they accept and donate electrons and from the electron transport chain.
