SCIENCE(nervous system)

• Nervous system is a system that has tissue, cells, etc.
• Spinal cord is the connection from the brain and the rest of the body
• Central nervous system is the main processing
• brain is the distributor of information
• cerebrum controls thoughts
• cerebellum controls balance and posture
• brain stem controls heart rate and digestion
• peripheral nervous system connects central nervous system to limbs and organs
• somatic nervous system is voluntary
• spinal nerve controls sensory signals
• cranial nerves controls in and out of the information in the brain stem
• autonomic is involuntary
• sympathetic is when stress
• parasympathetic is when relaxed
• Nerve Cells/ Neurons is the unit of Nervous system
• Sensory Neurons is the Sensory environment to body (receptor cells)
• Motor Neurons is brain to other muscles/Neurons (effector cells)
• Neurons is cell body that contains nucleus
• Neurons carries signals
• Dendrites is towards the cell body
• Dendrites can be 1m long
• Axon is away from the cell body
• Dendrites and Axon is root like structure
• When Axon is grouped, it is cable like bundles AKA nerves
• Nerve impulse is the combination of electrical charge and chemical reaction
• Synapse is the space between neurons
• Stimulus is the trigger
• Response is the reaction to stimulus
• Neurotransmitter is a chemical produced when nerve impulse comes to the end of axon
• 8 parts of nerve cells are Dendrite, Soma, Axon, Node of Ranvier, Axon Terminal, Schwann Cell, Myelin Sheath, and Nucleus
