Repealing existing law

• there remain in force many old, unnecessary and irrelevant statutes. and in order to deal with these, te law commission will investigate if they are still required and will prepare a repeals bill for parliament to consider for those statutes that are unnecessary or irrelevant.
• By 2015, there had been 19 statute law (repeals) acts, resulting in 3000 old acts of parliament being repealed. As such, this makes the law more accessible to the public and to lawyers.
