Analogy

• Analogy - a comparison of two things to show their similarities
• Synonyms - words that mean the same thing. The first pair of words mean the same thing, so the second pair should too
• Antonyms - words that mean the opposite. There should be a pair of opposites
• Cause and Effect - one word is the source of some action and the other word is the result
• Object-Purpose-Function - first and second word in each pair tells what the object is used for
• Part-Whole - first word of each pair names a specific item and the second word names a more part item
• Characteristic - first word names a person or thing, and the second word describes a characteristic of that person or thing
