Nature of Gas

• SI Unit of Pressure is Pascals (Pa)
• Two units commonly used with pressure/pascals are mmHg and atm
• STP is defined at sea level
• standard pressure = 1 atm = 760 mmHg = 101.3 kPa = 760 torrs
• standard temp = 0 °C = 273K
• 1 mole of any gas at STP is 22.4 L of volume
• normal boiling points of water is 100°C at sea level
• higher elevation = lower boiling points
