• Dressing order:

  • put on: weak to strong
  • take off: strong to weak
• NA can reduce odors except

  with changing soiled wound dressing
• put pt in Fowler's for bed

  use manual left crank
• surgical bed is just a surgical bed
• occupied bed


  fanfold linens toward pt one at a time, when removing soiled linen and applying clean linen
• partial bath


  give pt basin of water(help self-regulate)
• check water temp for bath

  use bath thermometer
• reduce pressure on bony parts

  use flotation matress
• clean dentures


  hold over basin/sink lined with a towel
• put on bed sheets

  1. fitted sheet-tucked
  2. drawsheet/halfsheet (follow folds+rough seam down)
  3. topsheet-> bring top hem down so it becomes smooth (4 in.)
  4. bedspread (cover topsheet)
  5. mitered corner -don't need to tuck in for state
  6. tuck pillow in
  7. pillow opening face opposite to door
