THE ENGINEERING IN VARIOUS TYPE OF ORGANIZATION

• Level one - minimal engineering jobs like retailing firms
• Level two - modern degree of engineering jobs like transportation companies
• Level three - high degree of engineering jobs like construction firms
• The engineer manager may be assigned to head a small engineering unit of the firm, but there will not be too many firms which will have this unit
• The engineer will have a slim chance of becoming the general manager or president of level one, unless of course, he owns the firms
• In level two firms, the engineer may be assigned to head the engineer division
• Level three firms provide the biggest opportunity for an engineer to become the president or general manager
