  • 39 is the average age of a single parent.
  • Most single mothers are in paid work.
• Familial ideology: Media promotes the nuclear family, for example fairy liquid advertisements. New right support this idea.

  • Over 50% of prisoners have been through care system

  • Only 1% of single mothers are teenagers
  • Toxic households.
  • Excludes other functioning households.
