• What are HAI caused by?

  • Lack of hygeine e.g. not washing hands
  • Un-contained sneeze/cough
  • Unsterilized equipment/surfaces
• How do you reduce risk of HAI?

  • Hand washing stations, to encourage staff to wash hands before + after dealing with patients
  • Frequent bed washing + surface cleaning
  • Put ppl with HAI in isolation ward -> prevent spread
