measuring rates of reaction

• rate of reaction = amount of reactant used or amount of product formed / time
• you can record a visual change in a reaction if the initial solutionis transparent and the product is a precipitate which clouds the solution
• a change in mass shows a chemical reaction
• the quicker the mass changes in a chemical reaction, the faster the reaction is happening
• the more volume of gas given off in a chemical reaction, the faster the rate of the reaction
