With over 35million road users, the government are trying to bring back the use of Railways to ease congestion and move the economy forward.
HighSpeed 1 (HS1) runs from Kent to London, using the Eurostar tracks. There are plans to build HS2 which will run from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.
The line's planned route is between Handsacre, in southern Staffordshire, and London, with a spur to Birmingham. HS2 is to be Britain's secondpurpose-built high-speed railway after High Speed 1, which connects London to the Channel Tunnel.
