Ear Wax

• Removal should only be if it affects hearing or visuals of tympanic membrane
• Oil-based eardrops


  Olive oil, Almond or Peanut CHECK FOR ALLERGIES
• Acetic acid eardrops
• For Urea hydrogen peroxide eardrops, warn of bubbling effect
• Sodium bicarbonate eardrops
• 2-3 drops in the affected ear, tilted to one side for 5 minutes
• Symptoms may be gradual hearing loss and discomfort
• Avoid using q-tips as they compact wax and can damage ear drum
• Use drops for 3-4 days to see improvements
