  Carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and cells of the body

  • Contain haemoglobin which helps carry oxygen

  Phagocytes that engulf and digest microbes
• Lymphocytes


  Produce antibodies in response to foreign cells/microbes

  Cell fragments that assist clotting at the site of wounds and forming scabs
• Plasma


  The fluid part of blood that contains water, minerals, dissolved proteins, waste products, and dissolved foods
