Mild rashes
do not normally need medication
Leave nappy off

long periods

fragrant soaps

or wipes which might cause
irritation

cotton wool
and
water to
clean
nappy area opposed
to wipes
Change nappies
everytime they
wet
or
soil

of nappy used and use
higher absorbance

barrier
cream with
mild rash
e.g
dimeticone

zinc
,
caster oil
,
sudocream
For
moderate rashes
consider
hydrocortisone cream
Fungal rash-
sharp red margins,
papules
and
pustules
, may be
satellite lesions
Bacterial rash-
redness with
exudate
,
papules
and
pustules
, may have
systemic symptoms
For fungal rash, topical
antifungal
creams and advise not to use
barrier
cream
For bacterial rash,
oral antibiotics
Form of irritant contact
dermatits
