Dandruff

• Salicylic acid
• Piroctone olamine
• Coal tar
• Scaling and sometimes itchy white flakes, redness
• Ensure problem is only on scalp
• Possibly due to change in hair product causing allergic reaction
• Shouldnt be inflammed unless scratched
• Coal tar shampoo, to be used for up to 6 weeks, if no improvement see GP
• USe products 2-3 times a week
• Ketoconazole or Salicylic aicd
• Ketoconazole should be left on for 5 minutes before rinsing
• Refer if very itchy or severe
