• What is a Computer Network?


  It’s when two or more computers are connected together to allow them to communicate.
• What are protocols?


  Communication methods need rules to work properly and ensure the message is understood. These rules are called protocols.
• What is Network Hardware?


  A number of hardware is needed to create a network: network cable; server; hub; router. Data can be sent in both directions across a cable.
• What is a Hub?


  It links multiple computers together. Ports let cables connect the computers.
• What is a Server?


  A powerful computer that stores files (like text, images and sound) and provides services that all devices on the network can access.
• What is a Router?


  A network can connect to another network over a big area using a router. A gateway sends messages between networks. It usually connects your one to the internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
