  increased by 19% from 1933-39

  Hours also increased from 43 to 49
• Re-armement

  Hitler wanted to rebuild military. Germany had 1.4 million men at the ready in 1939
• Public works programmes

  It was Chancellor Schleichers first scheme, where 2 million unemployed were given work but HItler got all the credit
• Strength through Joy

  Offered compensation for static wages by funding trips and promoting cheap cars
