  • Heat Stroke
    • It occurs when the body can no longer control its temperature.
  • Dengue
    • A viral infection that spreads from mosquitoes to people. It is more common in areas with warmer climates and more rainfall.
  • Waterborne DIseases
    • Are conditions caused by pathogenic microorganisms that are transmitted by water.
  • LEPTOSPIROSIS
    • Caused by the bacterium LEPTOSPIRA
    • It affects both humans and animals
  • DIARRHEA
    • Refers to the loose and frequent bowel movement that can lead to dehydration if not addressed properly and immediately.
  • Diarrhea - This condition is caused by bacteria in contaminated food or water.
  • Foodborne Diseases
    • Illnesses contracted from eating contaminated food.
  • Salmonellosis - an infection caused by the salmonella bacterium.
  • Clostridium Botulinum - thrives in expired canned food.
  • Dislocation of Populations due to Floods and Natural Disasters - It refers to a situation where people are forced to leave their homes or places of habitual residence as a result of a disaster or in order to avoid the impact of an immediate and foreseeable natural hazard.
  • Extreme episodes of El Niño and La Niña are two effects of climate change.
  • El Niño - Winds weaken, causing sea surface temperature to rise.
  • La Niña - The opposite of El niño. During a Niña, cold water is pushed back to the eastern pacific ocean.
  • LOW SOIL PRODUCTIVITY
    • Drought and excessive precipitation can reduce soil productivity. Lack of water supply stunts the growth of crops. Loss of soil organic matter due to flood.
  • Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - their activities is to advance scientific knowledge about climate change caused by human activities.
  • Montreal Protocol - International treaty that laid down the goals and framework that sought to reduce the use of and eventually phase out ozone-depleting substances (ODS).
  • Kyoto Protocol - it sets binding targets for industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
