    Bohol province suffered a 7.2-magnitude earthquake. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 33 kilometers (21 mi), 2 kilometers (1.2 mi) east of Carmen, Bohol, and 629 kilometers (391 mi) from Manila. The quake was felt as far as Davao City. It was the deadliest earthquake in the Philippines in 23 years. The energy of the quake released was equivalent to 32 Hiroshima bombs dropped over Hiroshima during World War II.
