  • less Ca2+ channels open in pre-synaptic knob
  • less vesicles move towards + fuse with membrane
  • less NT released into synaptic cleft via exocytosis
  • in post-synaptic neurone
  • less Na+ channels open
  • A.P is less likely
  • to happen in post-synaptic neurone
