Meiosis

• Describe the process of meiosis

  • A homologous pair of chromosomes wrap around each other and crossing over ca occur
  • This is a diploid cell
  • First division occurs so the homologous chromosomes are separated
  • Second division occurs, and chromatids separate to produce 4 daughter cell which are genetically different
  • These are haploid cells
