  Disco music
• EDM used to be typically played on ‘real’ instruments.
• When was the synthesiser made?


  1980s
• The synthesiser brought a whole new world of electronic sounds and possibilities.
• In the 1990s, synthesisers could be programmed and played on a computer, removing the need for a keyboard.
• In the 2000s, most instruments, including ’real’ ones, are not needed anymore - therefore, sequencers were programmed.
