• Monoclonal antibodies are antibodies that are identical to one another

  • A mouse is injected (vaccinated) to begin the formation of antibodies
  • The B-lymphocytes that produce antibodies are collected in an operation
  • they are combined with tumor cells (myeloma cells) to form hybridoma cells
  • these are grown in a lab, and those that produce antibodies are separated
  • the antibodies are collected and purified
