  • Runs postal Service
  • Responsible for foreign affairs
• State Governments


  • Powers not outlined in the Constitution, e.g. licensing, expenditure
• The Constitution reserves powers for the States
• The Constitution outlines what the National Government can do and cannot do
• The National Government is broken into 3 governments: Legislative, Executive, Judicial
• The 2 governments (National Federal and State) were created because of the Constitution
• The State governments are responsible for the school system
