Drug Targets

• The target of beta lactam antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins, carbapenems are the cell wall,
• aminoglycosides and tetracyclines target the site of action in 30S subunits of ribosomes
• polymyxins and colistin target the cell membrane,
• sulfa drugs and sulfonamides target folic acid production.
