• 2. an egg is removed from egg donor sheep - the nucleus is removed to form a de-nucleated egg
• the de-nucleated egg and the donated DNA are fused together using an electric shock
• the fused cell is given another electric shock to divide and form an embryo
• the embryo is implanted into the uterus of a surrogate sheep
• cloned animals have identical genes so they will be genetically identical, but not necessarily phenotypically identical due to environmental factors
• the surrogate sheep gives birth to a lamb which is a clone of the DNA donor sheep
