  • Field Goal
    When the ball enters the basket from above the rim during play. It is worth two points.

  • Four-point play

    The rare occasion when an offensive player shoots and makes a three-point field goal while simultaneously being fouled by a defensive player, resulting in a shooting foul and one free throw attempt.
  • Jump Shot
    A basic shooting technique in which a player throws the ball towards the basket from a straight vertical jump.
  • Bank Shot
    A shot that ricochets off the backboard before going into the basket.

    A shot near the basket, usually off the backboard.
  • Dunk
    A slam dunk, also simply known as dunk, is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air, controls the ball above the horizontal plane of the rim, and scores by shoving the ball directly through the basket with one or both hands.
  • Chest Pass
    Hold ball in both hands, chest high. Step forward, extend your arms and snap your wrists to throw the ball in a straight line to your teammate's chest.
  • Bounce Pass
    The pass is thrown to the floor so that it bounces to the intended receiver.
  • Overhead Pass
    An overhead pass in basketball is when the player throws the ball with both hands starting from behind the head and releasing the ball out.
  • No Look Pass
    The no look pass, also occasionally referred to as the blind pass, features offensive action that occurs when a player in possession of the basketball.
