Germany was humiliated - everyone agreed France should take Morocco
What happened in 1911?
Rebellion in Fez (The Capital) led to the Sultan (Leaders of Morocco) asking France for help
France sent 20,000 troops in aid
Germany saw this as an invasion and so sent a Warship to the area
Britain prepared for War
Series of meeting prevented this breaking out into War, but tensions remained high
What were the Consequences?
Germany backed down
France took full control of Morocco
Britain and France became closer
Britain began building up its Navy
