IP Address and domain name syatem

• IP Addresses : are four 8 bit numbers separated by dots.
• IPv6 Addresses are 128 bit numbers represented in hexa. for example: 1023:Oef.0000.0000.34dd.00fe.0189.2233
• IPv4 stands for internet protocol version four. It is the original version of the internet protocol.
• Ipv6 stands for internet protocol version 6
• what is a circuit switching?

  A connection is set up between you and the person you are calling of the duration of the call.this is called circuit switching.
• when u send a file to person the file is broken down up into data packets of 512 bytes.
• each data packet will contain same number of bytes.
• points on a network diagram are called nodes. A node is a point on a network diagram that represents a device or a device port
• A domain name system is made up of domain names and IP addresses.
• A domain is a name used to refer to an IP adress range. for example : google.co.uk.
• A DNS Server tanslates a web address into an ip address. For exmaple: google.com translates to 216.58.204.35
• define dynamic IP adrreses.?

  many IP adresses will change when the router reconnects to the internet.this is known as dynamic ip address. And a dyanmic Ip address is a temprary address for devices connected to a network that continually chnages.
• define a network interface?

  a network interface card (NIC) is built into every networked device.it can be wireless with an antenna or wired with a network cablesocket.the most modern computers and phones in corporate the nic into the motherboard.
