  Swaps the positive and negative connections every half turn. This means the direction of the current swaps every half turn. This means the forces acting on the coil will always be acting in the same direction, this means the coil rotates in the same direction every time.
• How can we increase the speed of the rotations?

  Increase the current.

  Add more turns to the coil.

  Increase the magnetic flux density by using stronger magnets.
• What do electric motors use?

  Electricity to create a rotational motion.
• What are conducting brushes?

  They allow the electric current to pass onto the split-ring commutator.
