• Mitosis has four stages; prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase
• Metaphase - chromosomes line up along the equator of the cell
• To prep for Mitosis- the cell must grow and increase amount of subcellular structures like mitochondria and ribosomes
• Interphase - DNA/chromosomes are replicated
• Prophase -Nucleus disappears ready for chromosomes to line up in the middle
• Mitosis Anaphase - Each arm of chromosome pulled to opposite side of cell by cell fibres
• Mitosis Telophase - new membrane forms around chromosomes as Nucleus.
• Cytokinesis- Cell splits into two daughter cells, each with half the number of chromosomes
• Mitosis only occurs in Eukaryotic Cells
