  Pendulum and clamp it

  Measure Time period using a stopwatch

  Use a ruler to measure Length

  Vary Length and determine Time

  Use small angles

  Measure Time starting from the centre

  Plot Time period squared against L

  Gradient=4pi²/g
• Determine youngs modulus 


  Clamp wire at one end and

  Measure diameter of wire in 3 different places

  Measure Length of wire

  attach mass on a pulley at the other end

  Measure extension, repeat with changing masses

  Calculate stress =F/A

  Calculate strain =x/l

  Plot stress strain graph

  Gradient =youngs modulus
