    • Lysozyme enzymes– secreted in tears, sweat, saliva, earwax and mucus. Aid in the destruction of bacterial cell walls
    • acidic/alkaline solutions– environment occur within the digestive tract. Change in pH from the stomach to the small intestine ensures that any pathogens are killed
    • Antimicrobial chemical in secreted fluids– secreted by sweat glands, hair follicles, eyes, mouth and other open passages. Destroy pathogens as well as flush out pathogens which may have settled on or in surfaces
