Death of Alexander II

• Immediately after signing the Loris Melikov reforms, Alexander II was travelling to the Winter Palace.
• People’s Will members threw bombs at his carriage but missed and the explosion injured some of the Tsar’s Cossacks.
• Alexander II got out of his carriage to check on his injured men but another bomb was thrown and he was instantly killed.
