Immediately after signing the Loris
Melikov
reforms, Alexander II was travelling to the
Winter
Palace.
People’s Will members threw
bombs
at his carriage but missed and the
explosion
injured some of the Tsar’s
Cossacks.
Alexander II got out of his carriage to check on his injured men but another
bomb
was thrown and he was instantly
killed.
