• Censorship was introduced to ensure info didn’t get into Nazi hands
• Overseas letters and mail: sensitive material
• Soldiers' letters: make sure military secrets weren't given away
• Telephone calls: even the King and Churchill
• News items: if damaged morale, they went
• Photographs: distressful ones would reduce enthusiasm
• Newspapers: Daily Workers was banned in 1941 cause it supported Stalin, attacked British Gov but rarely attacked Hitler
