    • Visual - eyes

    • Tactile - skin

    • Organic - inside the body
  • Tone
    The attitude of the writer towards the subject of the story or the poem (e.g. sad, happy, sarcastic, indifferent)
  • Figures of speech
    Words that should not be taken literally because they have deeper meanings
  • Types of figures of speech
    • Simile - an indirect comparison using "like" or "as"
    • Metaphor - direct comparison
    • Personification - comparing an animal or inanimate object with humans
