Cycle of desertification: Population growth -> more food, fuel and housing needed -> trees being cut down, grassland overgrazed and climate change resulting in less rain -> soil becomes bare -> soil eroded by wind and water -> land becomes infertile, no plants/crops grow and land becomes a desert.
