  • Badminton Court & Net
    • Badminton Courts are the rectangular surfaces used for the racket sport of badminton in which divided in half by a center badminton net
    • Badminton Net separates the two sides of the court
    • Net height: 5 feet high and 5 feet 1 inch at posts, the net line marks the middle of the court where the net is placed, creating a 6.1 meters by 20 feet area on each side of the net
    • Court Size: 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for doubles, 17 feet wide by 44 feet long for singles. Service court being 6 ½ feet from net
  • Racket (or Racquet)

    A light long-handled racket used by badminton players. A racket consists a handled frame with an open hoop across which a network of strings or catgut is stretched tightly
  • Shuttlecock ("Birdie")

    • It has an open conical shape formed by feathers (or a synthetic alternative) embedded into a rounded cork (or rubber) base
    • The shuttlecock shape makes it extremely aerodynamically stable. Regardless of initial orientation, it will turn to fly cork first, and remain in the cork-first orientation
    • There are two(2) types of shuttlecock: feather shuttlecock and plastic/synthetic/nylon shuttlecock
  • Shuttlecock ("Birdie")
    A shuttlecock weighs around 4.75 to 5.50 g (0.168 to 0.194 oz). It has 16 feathers with each feather 62 to 70 mm (2.4 to 2.8 in) in length, and the diameter of the cork is 25 to 28 mm (0.98 to 1.10 in). The diameter of the circle that the feathers make is around 58 to 68 mm (2.3 to 2.7 in).
