  Is the number of instructions that a single processing core can carry out per second

  High clock speed greater number of the instructions that can be carried out
• Number of cores


  More cores more instruction that can be process a batch of data
• Cache size

  Bigger cache size allows the Cpu faster access to more data that it needs to process
